This is the final instalment of this eco-fashion series! Did you get a chance to read part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4 of this series? You can check out 4 other lovely summer outfits from Logan & Finley, including 1 for men! Eco-fashion has come a long way, and is now available more than ever.
I launched this new series at the beginning of the summer, called Meet me at the market, all about eco-fashion and sponsored by the amazing Logan & Finley boutique, located at 670 Queen street West, in Toronto! I showed you an outfit featuring one or more items made out of organic cotton, something we can all use more in our wardrobe and feel good about. Today is the last outfit! 🙁
Most of the clothes that I have featured are made of certified organic cotton, something I feel strongly about since conventional cotton agriculture uses so much pesticides and insecticides (about 25% of worldwide use!), it is devastating for the soil, our water, our health, as well as the health of the workers working in cotton fields. Buying and supporting organic cotton agriculture and not buying cheap clothes has a huge impact on the environment. If you’d like to learn more about the differences between conventional cotton and organic cotton in more details, please read my article “What is so special about organic food? Part 2 – Beyond food”). There are also other eco-friendly fabrics that are made of hemp, bamboo, and other natural materials, however I do prefer to go with organic cotton as much as possible because there are some controversy with some bamboo that are not sourced sustainably. More research is needed. There also other ways to buy with a greener attitude, like buying clothes made with recycled fabrics, or second-hand, vintage, etc. These might not be healthy per-say, but at least you won’t contribute to making any new items.
I also personally think it’s important to buy quality items that will last more than just a season or two. I like to be fashionable, but I prefer the majority of my clothes to be classic pieces that will last a long time. Most of my wardrobe items have been with me for several years, some even over a decade or more. They might not be organic, but at least I don’t buy new clothes all the time. Quality over quantity!
LOGAN & FINLEY
I teamed up with Logan & Finley in Toronto to show everyone that it is possible to live a stylish life while supporting organic agriculture and organic clothes. Logan & Finley is an urban general store, where quality meets local, organic, and natural. A store where you can feel good about what you’re buying, as Julie (the owner) takes extra good care at picking out the best selection available. All of their items must at least meet one of her criteria to get into the store (a lot of them actually meet 2 or 3 of them): they must be local, either regional, or Canadian, they must be eco-conscious (hence why the majority of the clothes offered are organic), or they must be built-to-last (a quality rare in most cheap commercial items nowadays).
Logan & Finley sells urban modern clothes for men and women, as well as a variety of non-toxic and reusable household items like cleaners, and locally-made all-natural beauty products. They are one of the rare few to carry an extensive collection of Weck jars (those amazingly cute canning jars so popular), as well as the Abeego line of product, a Canadian-made revolutionary product meant to be used like plastic wrap on your food, but made with organic cotton and beeswax (we use ours all the time)!
If you live in the Toronto area (or close enough…), I highly recommend stopping at 670 Queen street West; say hi to Julie (the owner), and let her know Eyecandypopper sent ya! A beautiful store with a beautiful spirit. If you don’t live close enough, be patient! Logan & Finley is working on getting their online shop set-up so that you too can benefit from the great products. In the meantime, you can go visit the Logan & Finley website and sign-up for the newsletter to stay in-the-know! You can also like their Facebook page, and follow their Twitter account or Instagram account.
This series is meant to show off casual clothes to wear on the weekend, to go to your local Farmers’ Market, meet a friend for brunch, catch a movie, go to the cottage, etc. Whatever you want to do, there are healthy and non-polluting options! Oh, and did I mention that the prices are really affordable? They are comparable in price to any good quality items out there, if not cheaper. Remember that quality surpasses quantity.
Logan & Finley was part of 10 Best from USA Today as a super-duper-awesome destination in Toronto, why not go see it for yourself?
Today’s outfit
Today’s outfit consists of this beautiful creamy white top, and bright fuchsia tank top underneath made with bamboo. I’ve worn this combo several times with casual skinny jeans, to go see a movie, or go out to my favourite organic café, and I love it. It’s dressy and casual at the same time. The fabric is comfortable and soft, you can look good and fashionable, but can still move in it. A really nice piece in my wardrobe that I can wear all-year round. I love it! 🙂
Thank you to Logan & Finley — 670 Queen Street West, Toronto ON, for giving me this beautiful top and tank top for today’s post, and a huge thank you for supporting local, sustainable, and eco-friendly fashion, beauty and home products, and for all of your support on eyecandypopper.com and giving away $100 gift certificate to one of my readers!!! It has been an honour to contribute to letting more people know about this incredible store, and I hope it won’t be the last time we hear from Logan & Finley! 🙂

That is soooooooo cute. The tie closure on the front is what makes that tee. Fun series of posts, and I will be definitely checking out L & F in the near future.
