Non-organic strawberries are amongst the most sprayed fruits and vegetables on the market and are # 1 on the Dirty Dozen list, so these should always be purchased organic or non-sprayed, in order to reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals and pesticides.

Ingredients

  • 1 red beet root* peeled (a bit smaller than the size of your fist)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 cup frozen organic strawberries
  • 1 thumb-size piece of ginger peeled
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 1/2 cup nut milk or rice milk

Instructions

  1. Blend everything in a high performance blender until smooth, about 45 seconds. Enjoy right way or put in an airtight container in the fridge.

Recipe Notes

*Note: if your blender is not powerful enough to blend a raw beet root, simply lightly steam it first to make it more tender.
